Location: Brooklyn

The Youth Pastor will coordinate the teaching ministry for grades 7-12; including Youth Sunday School, Wednesday Evening Youth, and Sunday Evening Youth. In the event of an absence, the Youth Pastor will locate a substitute and alert the chairman of the Personnel Committee and the Senior Pastor of the absence and substitute.

The Youth Pastor will coordinate at least one youth event or activity each month. The Youth Pastor will coordinate youth fundraisers. The Youth Pastor will plan at least one summer camp for the youth group. The Youth Pastor will conduct and coordinate visits and evangelistic outreach for the youth of the church and community. The Youth Pastor will provide counseling to youth and parents as necessary.

The Youth Pastor will provide spiritual support and guidance to parents and guardians of the youth group as needed. The Youth Pastor will serve as pulpit supply for the Senior Pastor in the event of his absence as needed. The Youth Pastor will aid the Senior Pastor in service and ministry to the church as deemed necessary. The Youth Pastor shall be a member of the Youth Committee and shall serve as chair.

Qualifications
  • Meet the qualifications of a Pastor as found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:7-9.
  • A background of church attendance and service in a church of like faith and order.
  • Evidence of a call to ministry.
  • Experience working with children or youth. (preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field (preferred)
  • CDL License (Class A, B, or

    C) with passenger endorsement or willingness to obtain (preferred)
Hours
  • Sunday Morning: 9:45am – 12pm / weekly
  • Sunday Evening: 5:45pm-7pm / weekly
  • Wednesday Evening: 5:45pm-7:15pm / weekly
  • Monthly staff meeting: 1 hour / month
  • Monthly business meeting: 1 hour / month
  • Other committee meetings: 1-2 hours / month
  • Monthly event: 1-3 hours / month
Youth Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the teaching ministry for grades 7-12 including Youth Sunday School, Sunday Evening Youth, and Wednesday Evening Youth.
  • Coordinate a monthly event for the youth group by finding additional volunteers/chaperones, collecting monies, planning activities, promoting events, and executing the event.
  • Coordinate any youth fundraisers.
  • Plan and chaperone at least one youth summer camp.
  • Work with local churches to plan inter‑church events (i.e. DNow Weekend).
  • Attend student school, extra‑curricular, and life events when available.
  • Conduct evangelistic outreach and visitation to community youth and their families.
  • Work with the youth committee to plan events and plan the youth budget.
  • Coordinate the graduation recognition service and summer camp recap services.
  • Lead a youth VBS in cooperation with the VBS director.
  • Drive a van route on Wednesday evenings as needed.
Pastoral Responsibilities
  • Give the welcome, give weekly announcements, read the scripture reading, and lead in other ways as needed during the Sunday Morning Worship Service.
  • Assist with hospital and home visitation as needed.
  • Preach during Wednesday Evening Youth.
  • Provide Pulpit Supply for the Senior Pastor when needed. (Additionally compensated)
  • Provide counseling to youth and their parents.
  • Provide spiritual support and guidance to students and parents.
  • Coordinate targeted and personal discipleship for youth according to age, gender, and spiritual maturity.
  • Assist Senior Pastor with ministry to the church as needed.
  • Support the church’s events, ministries, and efforts through personal attendance and use of talents and gifts as needed.
