The Associate Degree Nursing Instructor is responsible to the Director of Associate Degree Nursing. The following job description was taken from Accreditation Standards And Rules And Regulations for Mississippi Programs of Nursing. Items will be adjusted as needed in accordance with standards or accepted practice in the profession.
ResponsibilitiesJob Requirements
- Master of Science Degree in Nursing
- One (1) year of clinical experience as a registered nurse
- One (1) year of teaching experience as a nursing instructor
- Must hold an unencumbered license from Mississippi
- Satisfy a criminal history background check
Job Requirements
- Clinical practice of one (1) year or more
- Willingness to work Saturday or Sunday
The work environment is an office/classroom setting with moderate noise. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
