Summary
The Assistant Director of Foundation and Alumni Relations functions as an executive secretary of the Alumni Association and its chapters. The Assistant Director assists the Executive Director of the Copiah‑Lincoln Foundation/Alumni Relations in carrying out the duties of the office and in keeping the alumni informed on the activities of the College. He/she reports to the Executive Director.
Duties and Responsibilities
Keeps alumni of the college informed of college activities through publications, correspondence, and personal contacts.Creates content and assists with layout and design of alumni and foundation publications, including the Colinian alumni magazine and e‑newsletters.Conducts the annual membership drive of the Alumni Association by mailing appropriate letters to active and inactive members.Works with the Alumni Association officers and its Board of Directors, the Athletic Alumni Association officers, and other Alumni Association chapters in scheduling meetings and planning all activities of the Association, including homecoming, officers' meetings, reunions, and other events.Handles publicity of alumni and foundation events and activities via all forms of media.Manages foundation and alumni social media accounts.Coordinates alumni and foundation news and photo updates for the Copiah‑Lincoln Community College website.Assists the Executive Director in the balloting and selection of alumni and foundation honorees; prepares biographical information and awards for presentation, and coordinates publicity.Answers inquiries concerning alumni relations; provides information to those seeking details concerning any event of the college or the Alumni Association.Assists with activities of the Copiah‑Lincoln Community College Foundation, Inc. as assigned by the Executive Director, including fundraising campaigns and events, golf tournaments, and Foundation Board meetings.Works with coaches on coordinating athletic alumni events, reunions, and fundraising activities.Serves as an ex‑officio member and staff advisor of the Foundation Board of Directors.Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications
Minimum
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism, public relations, marketing, or related field.
- Three (3) years of professional work experience.
Preferred
Job Requirements:
- Master’s Degree.
- Post‑secondary work experience preferred.
- Experience in using Adobe products (In‑Design, Photoshop, Illustrator) preferred.
