The Department of Natural Sciences and Environmental Health (NSEH) at Mississippi Valley State University invites applications for a full‑time, tenure‑track Assistant Professor Position in Analytical Chemistry, beginning August 10, 2026. We seek a dynamic and dedicated educator­scholar with a passion for undergraduate teaching, advising, research, and service.

• Teach undergraduate Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry and/or Inorganic chemistry and other general courses such as General Chemistry and Survey of Physical Science.
• Develop and maintain an active research program in Analytical Chemistry or a closely related field, with meaningful undergraduate student involvement.
• Serve as an academic advisor for undergraduate students in the NSEH department.
• Write and submit research and educational grant proposals to support scholarly and instructional activities.
• Contribute to departmental service, including committee participation and other duties as assigned.

• A Ph.D. in Chemistry, with a focus in Analytical Chemistry (or a closely related field), completed by the time of appointment.
• Demonstrated potential for teaching excellence at the undergraduate level.
• Evidence of ability to establish a research project involving undergraduates.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Postdoctoral experience.
• Experience in teaching and/or developing Chemistry or general science courses.
• Commitment to mentoring a diverse student population.
• Potential to seek external funding for research or program development.
