Summary:
The Adjunct Nursing Instructor plays a vital role in supporting the development of practical nursing students by providing hands-on instruction and supervision in both clinical settings and the campus skills lab. This position requires travel to designated clinical sites and active participation in on-campus lab activities to ensure students gain the practical competencies necessary for success in nursing practice.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Travel to assigned clinical sites to supervise and mentor nursing students during their clinical rotations.
- Satisfy clinical agency requirements.
- Ensure students adhere to professional standards, safety protocols, and clinical objectives.
- Collaborate with clinical site staff to facilitate a positive learning environment.
- Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Assist students in developing and practicing essential nursing skills in the campus lab.
- Provide instruction that aligns with the curriculum and current best practices.
- Maintain lab equipment and ensure a safe, organized learning space.
- Support faculty in preparing lab materials and assessments.
- Recommends new and/or replacement equipment to be purchased for the program.
- Attend faculty meetings
Minimum
Job Requirements:
- Must have and maintain an unencumbered registered nursing license in Mississippi.
- Associates Degree in Nursing.
- Three (3) years of clinical experience working as a registered nurse; or have two (2) years experience as faculty in a nursing/allied health program
- Possess valid CPR Card
- Clearance once selected: satisfy clinical agency requirements, i.e., background checks, immunizations, CPR, etc.
Preferred
Job Requirements:
- Five (5) years of clinical experience working as a registered nurse; or three (3) years of experience as faculty in a nursing/allied health program
