Job Summary:
The Director of Co-Curricular Programs leads the School of Business Administration's growing financial literacy initiative and oversees the school's portfolio of co-curricular badge credentials. As the first and primary initiative, the Director builds out a stable of foundational personal finance courses, brings high-profile financial literacy speakers and events to campus, and develops the financial literacy badge as a university-wide credential open to students in every school and college.
The role combines classroom teaching, program management, event production, and credential design.
Job Description:
- Course Development and Instruction
- Develop an array of freshman and sophomore-level courses spanning the major domains of personal finance, including investments, real estate, retirement planning, credit and debt management, insurance, and budgeting.
- This position can teach in this program but organization skills and promotion will be key.
- Recruit and coordinate adjunct instructors and guest lecturers as offerings expand
• Ensure all financial literacy courses meet the academic standards of the School of Business Administration.
- Speaker Series and Events
- Plan, host, and promote no fewer than three financial literacy speakers or events per semester
- Design programming to draw the widest possible audience across academic units, with particular emphasis on first and second year students.
- Cultivate relationships with industry professionals, alumni, and national thought leaders willing to serve as speakers
- Manage logistics, marketing, and post-event assessment.
- Badge Credential Programs
- Launch and administer a university-wide financial literacy badge credential, open to students from any college or school
- Oversee the broader portfolio of co-curricular badge programs operated by the School of Business Administration, a growing area of focus for the school
- Establish learning outcomes, completion standards, and verification processes for badge attainment
- Track participation and report on student outcomes.
- Strategic and Administrative
- Build partnerships with units across campus to broaden reach
- Pursue gift, grant, and sponsorship opportunities in coordination with development staff
- Represent the School of Business Administration to external audiences on matters of financial literacy
Job Responsibilities:
Preferred Qualifications
• MBA from an accredited institution
• Strong organizational and project management ability
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Relevant industry experience in financial services, financial planning, banking, wealth management, or a related field
• Demonstrated effectiveness in classroom instruction
• Prior experience designing or managing co-curricular or credential programs
• Established network of industry professionals available to serve as speakers
• Experience with event planning and promotion
Substitution Statement:
An equivalent combination of related experience and education may be considered for this role. Substitutions of the required experience or education will be assessed on a 1:1 substitution basis.
