Healthcare Continuing Education Adjunct/(PT) Faculty Pool
The School of Nursing and Health Professions (SON&HPs) is widely recognized for providing healthcare students and workers with the tools necessary to position themselves competitively in the workforce. The School creates educational training opportunities, and skill-building developments that will enhance the economic security of its surrounding communities. The non-credit programs and trainings offered will enhance current skillsets and provide an array of skill-building professional certificates and/or certifications.
The SON&HPs is seeking qualified individuals with healthcare-related backgrounds and professional experiences to assist part-time with providing quality instruction and supervision to healthcare students enrolled in non-credit training areas of continuing education and/or professional development. Non-credit healthcare programs/trainings that are currently in need of part-time faculty are:
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Dental Assistant with Dental Radiology, Dental Radiology, Dialysis Technician, EKG Technician, IV Therapy Certification & Recertification–LPN, Expanded Role, Pharmacy Technician, Phlebotomy, Telehealth Training.
Effectively teach assigned courses. Structure and supervise learning experiences in the classroom, labs, and/or clinical agencies. Serve as a professional role model. Assist non-credit students in achieving course objectives. Set up and taking down classroom materials and equipment as needed. Provide discipline in the classroom as needed. Prepare lessons and presentations for continuing education and non-credit coursework. Maintain and organize the necessary required records.
Assist in the promotion and support of the program including recruitment activities. Assist in the maintenance and enhancement of communications within the program, the College, and community. Establish a means of being accessible to meet individual student needs. Provide grade reports and feedback to the students in a timely manner. Communicate effectively with students, college staff and administrators. Maintain appropriate classroom, lab, clinical hours proportionate to the instructional assignment.
Perform other related work duties as assigned.
A valid, current, unencumbered license and/or certification above the level of the training. A minimum of two (2) years of experience in the field of study. Personal computer applications to office operations. Effective verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
A minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience. Continuing education training. Familiar with online teaching technologies for class discussions and online learning platforms.
