Jackson State University College of Business invites applications for the position of a Professional Development Trainer in the Center of Academic and Professional Success (CAPS).

The position is a full-time, 12-month staff position.

Qualifications
  • Preferably a Ph.D. in business education (business communications) or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Consideration may be given to candidates holding a master’s degree or higher, including a professional degree in business education (business communications) or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Strong teaching record and evidence of teaching excellence on various platforms.
  • Demonstrated capability in using technology in the classroom.
  • Experience in developing students’ oral and written communication skills is a plus.
  • Experience preparing students for the workforce.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
  • Teach courses at the undergraduate level and carry out other duties in the Center for Academic and Professional Success (CAPS).
  • Provide instruction for courses which could include any combination of University Success for Business Majors, Introduction to Business, and Business Communications per semester.
  • Provide students with both theory and practical experiences.
  • Emphasize student mastery.
  • Utilize various resources and technology to engage students and introduce them to business.
  • Collaborate with the Jackson State University Center for Innovation to incorporate interactive technology within the courses.
  • Demonstrate respect and follow through in working cooperatively with supervisors, fellow CAPS employees, other faculty, staff, and students.
  • Accountable for carrying out other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
