Coordinator, Talent Search 61 North

• Recruits program participants from Claiborne, Vicksburg-Warren, and Sharkey County School Districts
• Coordinates services and activities
• Facilitates workshops and coaches participants to persist, graduate and enroll in postsecondary education programs.
• Assists with input of student and staff data for reporting requirements
• Other related duties, as assigned

License or Professional credentials in relevant discipline (if applicable)

• Bachelor’s degree minimum;
  Master’s degree preferred in counseling, education, higher education, or a related field.
• Minimum of two years of experience working with at-risk/disadvantaged students while increasing persistence, retention, and graduation rates, as well as promoting career exploration and financial education.
• Must be able to construct tutoring schedules and establish and maintain positive and cooperative relationships with target school staff, participants, and the public.

• Knowledge of project management best practices
• Knowledge of the community, as well as social, cultural and political awareness
• Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, and interpersonal
• Strong organizational skills
• Proficient computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office Suite, Email and other databases
• Strong conflict management skills
• Good visual, auditory and ambulatory ability
• Ability to creatively motivate, empower and recognize students
• Ability to track, report and analyze data
• Ability to demonstrate empathy
• Ability to build consensus and positive relationships
• Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced office environment
