Assistant /Associate Professor, Sports Management

• Teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in sport management,which may include sport marketing, sport finance, sport law, sport facility and event management, sport governance, sport analytics,and ethics in sport.
• Maintains a 12-credit hour teaching load per semesterconsistent with School of Business workload policy.
• Leads and supports program level efforts toward COSMAaccreditation, including curriculum mapping, assurance of learning,and self study preparation.
• Builds and stewards industry partnerships with professionalteams, athletic departments, conferences, and sport relatedorganizations to expand internships, experiential learning, and student career placement.
• Advises undergraduate and graduate students on academic progress, internships, and pathways into the sport industry.
• Pursues scholarly productivity through refereed publications,conference presentations, and external funding.
• Participates in department, school, university, and professional service, including committee work, faculty governance,and program review.
• Contributes to recruitment, retention, marketing, andvisibility of the Sport Management program.
• Supports School of Business strategic priorities, includingACBSP accreditation alignment, STEM MBA growth, and student success.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Dean.
• Other related duties, as assigned.

Earned doctorate (Ph.D., Ed.D., or D.B.A.) in Sport Management,Sport Administration, Kinesiology with a sport managementconcentration, Business Administration, or a closely related fieldfrom an accredited institution by the appointment start date.

College level teaching experience, or clear potential to teacheffectively.

A record of, or promise for, peer reviewed scholarship appropriate to the rank sought.

Strong commitment to student success, mentorship, and inclusiveclassroom practices.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

• professional experience in the sport industry,such as athletics administration or event and facility management.
• experience teaching within or building toward aCOSMA accredited program.

• Knowledge of Sports Management theory and current industrypractice across marketing, finance, governance, and the legal aspects of sport.
• Knowledge of COSMA accreditation standards and outcomes-basedprogram assessment.
• Skill in effective classroom, online, and hybrid instruction fora diverse student body.
• Skill in scholarly writing, research design, and disseminationthrough peer reviewed outlets.
• Ability to provide online learning, including online coursedevelopment and strategies for student engagement in virtualenvironments.
• Ability to advise and mentor students and to support internshipsand experiential learning.
• Ability to build and sustain relationships with industry partners for student placement.
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues on curriculum,recruitment, and retention.
