Assistant Professor / Associate Professor, Economics Essential Job Functions
- Teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in economics, including principles of microeconomics, principles of macroeconomics, intermediate theory, money and banking, and economic policy.
- Maintains a 12-credit hour teaching load per semester consistent with School of Business workload policy.
- Develops and refreshes course syllabi, assessments, and learning materials aligned with ACBSP standards and assurance of learning expectations.
- Advises undergraduate and graduate students on academic progress, career planning, and professional development.
- Pursues scholarly productivity through refereed publications, conference presentations, and external funding.
- Participates in department, school, university, and professional service, including committee work, faculty governance, and program review.
- Contributes to curriculum development, learning outcomes assessment, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Supports School of Business strategic priorities, including STEM MBA growth, industry partnerships, and student recruitment and retention.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Dean.
Minimum Education
- Earned doctorate in Economics or a closely related field from an accredited institution. ABD candidates near completion may be considered at the Assistant Professor rank.
- College level teaching experience, or clear potential to teach effectively.
- A record of, or promise for, peer reviewed scholarship appropriate to the rank sought.
- Teaching experience in an ACBSP or AACSB accredited business program.
- Expertise in applied economics, econometrics, or data analytics that complements existing offerings.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Knowledge of micro and macroeconomic theory and applied economics.
- Knowledge of quantitative methods such as econometrics and data analytics.
- Knowledge of ACBSP and AACSB expectations for faculty qualifications and assessment.
- Skill in effective classroom, online, and hybrid instruction for a diverse student body.
- Skill in scholarly writing, research design, and dissemination through peer reviewed outlets.
- Experience with online learning, including online course development and strategies for student engagement in virtual environments.
- Ability to advise and mentor students and support their academic and professional development.
- Ability to collaborate across disciplines and contribute to graduate programs.
