Job Title: Title I Tutor

Reports to: Principal

Receives Guidance From: Principal, Lead Teacher, Administrator

Job Purpose:

• These Tutors are working in the classroom with students as the teacher presents the lessons.
• Provide academic support for selected students

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and/or small group instruction
• Provide documentation of student progress
• Work with teacher(s) to determine appropriate interventions
• Maintain required documentation of services provided up to 19 hours per week
• Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance
• Supports the Lamar County School District Mission Statement
• Perform other duties assigned by Supervisor

Qualifications:

• Education Level: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Passing scores on "Work Keys" test or completion of 48 college credits
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• Other Requirements: Required references and background check

Terms of Employment:

Salary, days and work year as established by the Lamar County Board of Education

Evaluation:

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Lamar County School Board policy on Evaluation of Employees.
