Assistant Professor; Non-Tenure track

Jackson State University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Computer Science.

• Serve as an effective teacher and mentor at the undergraduate and graduate levels by (1) employing innovative strategies to create active learning environments; (2) creating environments that foster collaboration and team building; and (3) actively participating in programming that supports the success of students (academically and professionally).
• Develop curriculum in the areas of Biomedical Engineering.
• Establish and sustain an externally funded research program in Biomedical Engineering.
• Provide service to the department, the college, the university and profession.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering.
• Must have a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate student education and success.
• Be an effective communicator and have excellent interpersonal skills.
• Be knowledgeable about effective pedagogical strategies.
• Be able to provide guidance, support and academic advice to undergraduate and graduate students.
• Strong analytical, observational and problem-solving skills.
