Location: Water Valley

The EHS Engineer is responsible for leading and maintaining all environmental, health and safety programs for the facility. This role will own regulatory compliance, EHS management systems, and EHS-related continuous improvement initiatives while providing hands‑on support to manufacturing operations.

Performance Standards
  • Serve as the primary site contact for regulatory agencies, audits, and inspections
  • Reviews, updates, and develops site-specific EHS programs, policies, and procedures
  • Conduct new hire orientation to prepare incoming employees for job responsibilities and expectations
  • Develops and coordinates site-specific EHS training programs
  • Complete hazard assessments and risk analysis for new, modified or relocated processes
  • Maintain conformance to OSHA VPP, EPA, DOT, RCRA, and corporate policies
  • Actively monitors working conditions and practices with respect to safe operations and the control of hazardous materials
  • Establish annual site EHS goals, metrics, and improvement plans aligned with organizational strategy
  • Lead EHS incident, injury, and near‑miss investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective action tracking
  • Develop and review written Job Safety Analysis (JSA) procedures
  • Educate and train employees on environmental, health and safety guidelines, policies, and procedures
  • Drive EHS continuous improvement projects at the department level
  • Own and maintain the site EHS Management System, ensuring conformance to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards, including internal audits, corrective actions, and management review.
  • Manage Hearing Conservation Program (HCP) activities to comply with OSHA’s Occupational Noise Exposure standard
  • Manage Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedural review and annual training
  • Collect and analyze safety and health data and reports trends for the annual EHS planning cycle related to industrial hygiene and ergonomics
  • Perform inspections and audits using web-based software to evaluate EHS compliance to OSHA, EPA, DOT, MDEQ, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 regulations and standards
  • Provide manufacturing floor support to assist in development of best practices at the department level
  • Support annual activities to maintain compliance with the OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP)
Education, Skills and Knowledge Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered
  • 3-5 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Capable of acquiring First Aid and CPR certifications
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills including the ability to work on a cross‑functional team
