Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s Production Engineering (PE) Paint Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Paint Engineer.
The primary responsibility of this role is to manage equipment installations for new model projects and non-model projects.
Reporting to Engineering Manager, the person in this role will support the Paint Department's objective to effectively manage capital projects, new model introductions, and provide necessary support to ensure smooth daily operations.
What you’ll be doing- Support area project planning, equipment procurement, implementation and follow-up
- Support new model introductions, including equipment modifications, process jigs, etc.
- Lead competitive improvement projects for local production shop
- Negotiate scope of work and define roles/responsibilities within the project
- Identify necessary investment and equipment modifications for capacity increases, model mixes, etc.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Field, Engineering Technology (or similar) or a minimum of three years of relevant experience
- Proficient knowledge in MS Office applications (Excel and PowerPoint for analysis and reporting)
- 2+ years of experience applying OSHA requirements, machine codes, and applicable standards
- 2+ years of experience in high volume automotive Paint manufacturing environment, either in TMNA Production Engineering or North American Manufacturing Center (NAMC) Production Engineering (PE)
- 2+ years of experience with paint equipment installations
- Ability to travel up to 30% both domestic and international
- 2+ years of experience writing equipment specifications
- 2+ years experience with Toyota Quality systems (ICS, PPI, etc)
- 2+ years of experience with AutoCAD or CATIA
- 2+ years of experience with Ringi development
- 2+ years of experience in technical industry
- Knowledge of MS Project
