We are looking for an Associate Process Engineer to support the Water Team in Scotland. The role involves leading design work on large‑scale water treatment projects, including developing process designs, reviewing deliverables, and mentoring junior staff.
Responsibilities- Deliver: Develop and check process flow diagrams, mass balance calculations, PIDs, process control, operating philosophy, control philosophy, FDS documents and related principles. Undertake asset surveys and site visits as required.
- Quality: Produce and review client deliverables, make technical decisions, and identify when specialist input is required. Ensure all technical documents comply with relevant design standards and legislation.
- Collaborate: Work with clients and AECOM counterparts to secure stakeholder buy‑in and contribute to technical capability and innovation.
- Mentor: Delegate tasks, oversee work of others, and act as a technical mentor to junior staff.
- Lead: Represent AECOM in technical meetings with clients and coordinate integrated solutions with multidisciplinary engineers.
- Degree (or equivalent) in Chemical Engineering.
- Chartered Engineer status with IChemE or CIWEM.
- Extensive experience in water treatment, managing technical delivery of large‑scale projects, including process design and optimisation using water company standards and specifications.
- Experience leading Feasibility, Optioning Studies, and Detailed Design of water treatment processes.
- Mentoring and verification skills.
- Contribution to proposals and winning work.
- Knowledge of the HAZOP process and procedures, and preferably DSEAR and its application to water treatment processes.
