Transportation Engineering Technician Team Lead

Job Title

First-level supervisory position accountable for overseeing technical support to construction projects, traffic control and safety, research and development, roadway design, rights-of-way, testing, transportation planning, and bridges.

Jobs at this level inspect concrete plants and mix designs, inspect and supervise paving and bridge construction, and conduct more complex tests on construction materials. Employee supervision includes hire recommendations; training; work planning, assignments, and review; and performance assessment, coaching, and progressive discipline.

Success in this role requires a strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to collaborate with others while fostering a positive, productive team environment. The candidate should demonstrate initiative, professionalism, and a commitment to achieving organizational goals through effective teamwork and communication. Supervision at this level also requires these employees to have the knowledge and skills to perform and review the work overseen.
