Complex Engineer

KOCH FOODS seeks a Complex Engineer to lead engineering and design initiatives across our integrated poultry operations. In this on-site role, you will optimize processing lines, utilities, and facilities for safety, reliability, and throughput in a fast-paced Food & Beverage environment. Partnering with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Safety, you will manage capital projects, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with USDA and food safety standards while supporting a culture of integrity, teamwork, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering projects across live production and processing operations to improve safety, throughput, and yield.
• Design, specify, and implement process and packaging equipment for poultry further-processing and distribution.
• Drive root-cause analysis and reliability improvements for critical utilities, refrigeration, and plant systems.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Safety to optimize line layouts and workflows.
• Manage capital project budgets, schedules, contractors, and compliance with food safety and OSHA standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and data-driven decision making.
• Ensure equipment, processes, and documentation meet USDA, FDA, and company food safety requirements.
• Develop and maintain engineering standards, SOPs, and maintenance strategies for plant assets.
