The Industrial Matting Business Unit Controller plays a vital role in JSG’s global finance transformation. The position is responsible for overseeing financial performance and providing strategic insight as we transform the Industrial Matting (No

Trax) business. Responsibilities include financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, operations finance activities, and strategic advice. The controller ensures accurate and timely financial information for decision‑making, drives a controlled environment that safeguards the integrity of the business‑unit financial statements, and partners with leadership to drive business improvements.

What You’ll Do At Justrite

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the controller is responsible for financial accounting and reporting, developing and monitoring internal control systems, and helping develop business strategies tied to financial metrics.

Financial Reporting
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the business unit.
  • Elicit insight from reviews and communicate to senior leadership to drive decision‑making.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Consolidate financial statements for the entire group.
  • Provide focused insights into key drivers of site operational performance.
Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Develop and manage the budgeting process with local leadership and BU general managers.
  • Monitor performance against budgets and forecasts, providing insights and recommendations.
Compliance and Regulatory Reporting
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and company‑wide fiscal policies.
  • Coordinate with JSG’s finance manager to ensure compliance across relevant tax positions.
Financial Analysis and Strategic Planning
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision‑making by senior management.
  • Recommend capital investment opportunities, mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Build analytical forecasts, budgets, and strategic plans to guide business decisions.
Drive Strong Operations Finance Principles
  • Partner with senior leadership to develop and track operations KPIs.
  • Coordinate and oversee the annual standard‑cost roll.
  • Understand and monitor cost accounting variances and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure proper inventory tracking and collection of labor/shopfloor activity, including physical inventories.
Internal Controls and Risk Management
  • Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial integrity.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks through proactive analysis and control measures.
Team Management and Development
  • Lead and mentor a team of financial professionals responsible for subsidiary‑level accounting and reporting.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the finance team.
Stakeholder Communication
  • Communicate financial performance, trends, and forecasts to senior leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Act as a strategic business partner for the BU general manager to drive performance.
  • Collaborate across functions to communicate inefficiencies and help problem‑solve improvement areas.
