Main Purpose of JobThe main purpose of this position, which functions as the Deputy Health Officer, is to provide day-to-day oversight and management of assigned programs and services provided by the Dorchester County Health Department (Administration, Strategic Planning, Workforce Development, Compliance, Accreditation, and special projects as assigned) under the direction of the full-time Health Officer. These programs are essential to ensuring the overall mission of the Health Department.
This position fulfills the roles and responsibilities of the Health Officer in their absences.
Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and three years of professional experience related to healthcare administration (i.e., overseeing facility operations, managing budgets and supervising departmental staff).
A Masters degree will substitute for one year of general experience. Additional experience will substitute year-for-year for the college degree.
