This position is with the MS Forestry Commission and is responsible for Area 41, which consists of Adams, Amite, Franklin, and Wilkinson Counties. Incumbent will report to the Area Forester in the above referenced area. Second-level vocational Forestry position accountable for coordinating the activities of lower-level positions in the prevention and suppression of forest fires. Jobs at this level are responsible for directing fire prevention and control activities, construction and maintenance work, informational and educational program activities, and forest management practices in an assigned area of the state.

Typically requires an Associate’s Degree and 2-4 years of experience. Agency preferred qualifications:
New Hires must either have their Commercial Driver's License or obtain a CDL within the first year of employment. Additionally, candidates must pass a walking fitness test and a pre-employment drug screening.
