This Time-Limited job opportunity is in the MS Office of Homeland Security, PEARL, MS, located in RANKIN COUNTY, and will serve as the Homeland Security Grant Program Equipment/Inventory Manager.

The incumbent serves as a key resource for ensuring the agency can accurately demonstrate the proper use and accountability of federally funded equipment during monitoring visits, audits, and reviews.

The incumbent will be responsible for the statewide management, tracking, accountability, and documentation of equipment and other assets purchased through federal Homeland Security grant funding. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that grant-funded equipment remains properly accounted for, appropriately identified, maintained, and utilized in accordance with federal grant requirements, state policies, agency procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.

The incumbent will travel extensively throughout the State of Mississippi to conduct physical inventory inspections, verify equipment locations and assignments, affix and maintain inventory identification tags, reconcile inventory records, identify discrepancies, and prepare detailed reports documenting the status and disposition of grant-funded equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conducts statewide inspections and physical inventories of equipment purchased with federal Homeland Security grant funds.
• Travels to law enforcement agencies, emergency management organizations, public safety facilities, local governments, and other participating entities throughout Mississippi to verify the existence, location, condition, and assigned custodian of grant-funded equipment.
• Maintains accurate and current inventory records for all equipment and assets purchased through Homeland Security grant programs.
• Assigns, affixes, replaces, and verifies equipment identification and inventory tags in accordance with established agency procedures.
• Maintains detailed records identifying equipment descriptions, serial numbers, model numbers, acquisition dates, costs, funding sources, locations, assigned agencies, custodians, and current condition.
• Reconciles physical inventory findings with agency financial, property, grant, and inventory records and identifies discrepancies requiring corrective action.
• Investigates missing, damaged, transferred, disposed, relocated, or otherwise unaccounted-for grant-funded equipment and coordinates with appropriate personnel to resolve discrepancies.
• Reviews equipment records and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with federal grant requirements and applicable state property-control policies.
• Prepares comprehensive inventory reports, reconciliation reports, inspection reports, discrepancy reports, and other documentation required for grant administration and oversight.
