Job Responsibilities
- Performs radiologic procedures using appropriate technical and safety method as requested by a licensed physician.
- Exercise judgement in selecting and computing settings for each patient.
- Develop an appropriate procedure/treatment plan.
- Implements procedure/treatment plan utilizing established hospital protocols/guidelines.
- Completes documentation as required to comply with hospital policies and procedures.
- Maintains equipment, procedure/treatment rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
- Participates in hospital and departmental performance improvement activities to ensure that patient care is consistent with established standards; collects quality data for monitoring performance improvement.
- Completes assigned goals.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum
Required:
Completion of a formal education program in radiography accredited by a mechanism acceptable to ARRT.
Preferred/Desired: Associates degree in related field.
Special SkillsMinimum
Required:
Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Radiologic principals/theory. Utilizes the most appropriate technique and positioning for optimal procedures/treatments as demonstrated by procedure/treatment results. Demonstrates ability to receive and follow written and oral instructions; ability to plan and organize work.
Minimum
Required:
Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with Registry in Radiography ARRT (R); BLS Certification within 14 days of hire;
New graduate will obtain required registry within 120 days as required;
State license as required.
Preferred/Desired: Registration in two or more specialties.
