Job Title
Position
Purpose:
Performs all required procedures relating to moderate and high complexity laboratory testing on all types of blood and body fluid specimens. Performs quality control procedures, instrument function checks, and preventative maintenance as required according to department policies and procedures. Teaches new employees laboratory policies and procedures. Collects chain of custody urine drug screens as required. Performs breath alcohol testing as needed.
Qualifications
Education:
An Associate's degree from an accredited college or university required. Degree must be in Medical Laboratory Sciences or one of the biological or chemical sciences. Laboratory training through an accredited laboratory school preferred.
Licenses/Certificates:
Eligible for registration as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT,ASCP) or Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT,NCA) or equivalent preferred.
