Admissions Manager

Manage the daily operations of the Patient Access department to effectively implement process improvements and ensure the timely and accurate processes of patients through the admissions process. The manager is expected to motivate staff to achieve high levels of patient satisfaction, and to meet the organization and departmental goals for customer service and financial performance.

• Master all aspects of Patient Access including terminology, workflows, compliance and regulations and be able to communicate them with confidence and expertise.
• Serve as a resource to Patient Access staff and other departments regarding registration, insurance verification, authorizations, patient account issues, billing documentation requests, and revenue cycle-related questions.
• Monitor and resolve assigned work queues, edits, denials, and account issues related to registration, authorizations, claim edits, charge review, worker's compensation, and other Patient Access functions.
• Coordinate with Billing, HIM, Coding, Payment Posting, Financial Counseling, Utilization Review, clinical departments, and third-party vendors to resolve patient access, billing, documentation, and workflow concerns.
• Assist with patient account corrections, including insurance updates, filing order changes, billed-status corrections, patient demographic issues, merge concerns, payment-related issues, and employee account adjustments.
• Support departmental operations by assisting with reporting, deposits, scheduling coverage, registration shift coverage, MyChart access requests, detailed bill requests, and other duties as assigned.
• Maintain departmental workflows, policies, procedures, and training resources while overseeing staffing, staff performance, education, engagement, and compliance with departmental expectations. Communicate proactively with the Director to support department goals and continued professional growth.
• Effectively and proactively communicate and address issues that may be impeding performance, including technology or processes. Implement process improvement initiatives as needed.
• Analyze patient information to ensure staff collected accurate patient demographic information and forms are completed and other paperwork / documents are gathered and accurate. Address any issues with staff and offer additional support and/or training.

• 3-5 years of Patient Access experience, required
• Five or more years of supervisor experience preferred
• Understanding of confidentiality ethics
• High School Diploma/GED required;
  Four-year degree preferred
• Computer experience required;
  Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) extensive knowledge required
• Must be able to read, write, and understand communication.
