Greet patients and guests in person or by telephone using AIDET principles
Answer incoming calls, direct calls, take messages, handle non-clinical processes, and schedule appointments
Communicate with patients regarding delays or wait times
Work with clinical staff and providers as part of a team
Manage patient call wait times, queues, voicemails, and messages
Register and schedule patients; verify insurance eligibility through Experion
Check in patients, scan insurance cards and IDs into the EHR, and complete paperwork
Collect co-pays, outstanding balances, deductibles, and self-pay balances
Manage cash allowance, collections, superbills, posting reports, and daily bank-bag closeout
Check patients out, arrange payment plans, and schedule follow-up appointments
Contact patients for appointment reminders
Coordinate with the clinic for pharmaceutical representatives, visitors, sample pick-ups, and other clinic requests
Perform other duties as assigned by management
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years administrative front office experience in a physician practice or health care setting
- Previous customer service experience
Demonstrates strong patient interaction skills through effective communication and scheduling, while managing administrative tasks in a healthcare setting. Proficient in handling insurance verification and payment processing to ensure smooth patient flow.
