Description About This Job

You play a vital role in our healthcare team by delivering exceptional patient care through advanced medical imaging
. You provide accurate diagnostic data that helps physicians determine the best treatment paths for patients. Your daily work directly supports our mission to offer safe, high-quality, and compassionate healthcare services to our community.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Performs diagnostic ultrasound and sonography procedures according to established medical protocols.
  • Conducts specialized exams, including abdominal ultrasound
    , echocardiography
    , obstetric & gynecological ultrasound
    , and vascular sonography
    .
  • Prepares patients for exams by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring comfort and safety throughout the visit.
  • Operates imaging equipment, adjusts technical parameters, and ensures optimal image quality for accurate diagnoses.
  • Manages image archives and patient records efficiently using PACS technology.
  • Collaborates with physicians and healthcare staff to review scan results and coordinate urgent patient care needs.
  • Makes independent decisions regarding technical image quality and patient adjustments during complex imaging sessions.
Required Qualifications Education
  • Holds an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field.
  • Maintains current ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) certification in good standing.
  • Holds active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Experience
  • Brings at least one year of clinical experience performing general and vascular sonography in a hospital or outpatient setting.
  • Demonstrates hands-on proficiency with modern PACS environments and diagnostic imaging equipment.
Knowledge/Skills
  • Possesses deep knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
  • Communicates effectively with patients of diverse backgrounds to reduce anxiety and gain cooperation.
  • Manages time efficiently to handle high patient volumes while maintaining strict accuracy standards.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Holds multiple ARDMS specialty credentials, such as Vascular Technology (VT) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS).
  • Brings two or more years of acute care hospital experience.
Physical Requirements /Work Conditions
  • Stands, walks, and assists patients for extended periods during shifts.
  • Lifts, moves, and positions patients safely using proper body mechanics.
  • Reaches, bends, and operates heavy imaging equipment regularly.
  • Works in a clinical environment with potential exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids while using standard safety gear
