The General Manager serves as the chief executive of the hotel, responsible for maximizing the long-term value of the asset while delivering exceptional financial performance, guest experience, and team engagement. The General Manager leads the business, the building, and the people, balancing owner expectations, operational excellence, commercial performance, and a culture rooted in Valor's P.R.I.D.E. values. This role requires a strategic leader who can inspire teams, think like an owner, make sound decisions under pressure, and represent the hotel with credibility among owners, brand partners, guests, and the local community.
ESSENTIALRESPONSIBILTIESBusiness Performance Leadership
- Drive sustainable financial performance while protecting the long-term value of the asset.
- Own the overall financial performance of the hotel, including profit and loss, EBITDA, cash flow, and owner returns.
- Develop and execute strategic business plans aligned with ownership objectives.
- Analyze financial results and operational metrics to identify opportunities for growth and efficiency.
- Lead capital planning, asset preservation, and long-term investment decisions.
- Foster a culture of accountability through data-driven decision making and operational discipline.
- Maximize total hotel profitability through integrated commercial strategies.
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, Revenue Management, and Operations to optimize revenue across all business segments.
- Establish commercial priorities that increase market share and RevPAR while maximizing total revenue, including rooms, food and beverage, meetings and events, and ancillary revenue.
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and demand patterns to proactively adjust strategies.
- Build strong relationships with key clients, community partners, and brand resources.
- Deliver exceptional operations that consistently exceed guest expectations.
- Ensure operational excellence across all hotel departments.
- Champion quality assurance, brand compliance, and service standards.
- Create memorable guest experiences that reflect the hotel's unique identity and local culture.
- Lead service recovery efforts and promote continuous operational improvement.
- Maintain the highest standards of safety, security, cleanliness, and regulatory compliance.
- Develop exceptional Hotelitarians and cultivate a culture where people thrive.
- Recruit, coach, and develop a diverse, high-performing leadership team.
- Build succession plans that strengthen the internal leadership pipeline.
