Payroll & HR Business Partner

Our client, a growing multi-state service organization, is seeking an experienced Payroll & HR Business Partner to join its HR team. This is a hands-on role that combines ownership of payroll operations with strategic HR partnership, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys both the technical and people-focused sides of Human Resources. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Human Resources, you'll have the opportunity to work alongside a highly respected, supportive leader who values collaboration, mentorship, and professional growth.

Responsibilities
  • Manage end-to-end, multi-state payroll processing with a strong emphasis on accuracy and compliance
  • Serve as the primary payroll subject matter expert for the organization
  • Partner with managers on employee relations, coaching, performance management, and policy interpretation
  • Administer employee benefits, including enrollments, life events, and open enrollment support
  • Maintain HRIS data integrity and assist with reporting and process improvements
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state employment and payroll regulations
  • Collaborate with Finance on payroll reconciliations and reporting
  • Help develop and improve HR and payroll processes to support a growing organization
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Accounting, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of payroll experience with ownership of the payroll process
  • 2+ years of HR Generalist or HR Business Partner experience
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now or a comparable HRIS/payroll platform preferred
  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, benefits administration, and employee relations
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy
