the Position
You will join the Semantic Layer team, attached to the MDS (Manufacturing Data Science) organization, which is responsible for the integration and provision of data, as well as the data support of Data Analytics & AI projects in the cloud, dedicated to manufacturing. We design and deploy solutions for manufacturing sites to facilitate decision-making and accelerate the development of use cases in advanced data analysis and artificial intelligence.
In this context, we are looking for an intern Data Governance / Data Analyst (2 to 3 years), responsible for facilitating data access, contributing to data governance and mapping, and supporting business and data teams in the analysis and value creation of their data.
You will be in charge of:
• Identifying and documenting existing data sources (business systems, databases, files, data lake, etc.).
• Contributing to data mapping and data flows (who produces what, where data is stored, who consumes what).
• Working in collaboration with business and data teams to understand their needs in reporting, analysis, and data access.
• Supporting the provision of data (data modeling) in the development of solutions: dashboards, applications, etc.
• Analyzing data quality (completeness, consistency, anomalies) and proposing improvement actions.
• Designing monitoring tools on data quality via dashboards/agents.
• Contributing to the implementation of rules and best practices in Data Governance (nomenclatures, definitions of indicators, update procedures, access rights). Setting up
-dashboard/agents- and alert procedure
• Participating in documentation (glossaries, user guides, data sheets) and in the sensitization of users to good data practices.
• Conducting exploratory analyses to meet business needs.
You are preparing or about to join an engineering school or a master's degree with a specialization in Data Science / Business Intelligence / Information Systems / Statistics, and you are looking for an internship of two or three years. You want to join a team at the heart of the Data & AI challenges of a company.
Expected Skills• SQL and data analysis (manipulation).
• Knowledge of descriptive statistics and definition of indicators (KPI).
• Technical English required (reading documentation, participation in exchanges with international counterparts).
• Knowledge of Big Data / Cloud / Databricks: a plus.
• Python (pandas): a plus.
• Previous experience with a data visualization tool (e.g., Spotfire, PowerBI, Tableau…): a plus.
In conclusion, this position requires analytical skills, a good ability to structure information, and a marked interest in data quality and governance. Knowledge in project management, great rigor in documentation, a good team spirit, and good communication skills with business users will be additional assets for this position.
