Production Manager – Chemical Manufacturing (Waynesboro, MS Area)
We are partnering with a growing chemical manufacturing operation to identify a hands‑on Production Manager to lead plant operations across a multi‑shift environment.
This is a high‑impact leadership role focused on driving daily production, improving plant performance, and building a strong frontline supervisory team.
What You’ll Be Doing- Lead daily production operations across a 24/7 manufacturing facility
- Manage and develop a team of shift supervisors and production staff
- Spend the majority of your time on the production floor driving results
- Ensure production, safety, and quality targets are met consistently
- Identify and eliminate operational bottlenecks
- Partner with maintenance and engineering to improve processes
- Drive a strong EHS and safety‑first culture
- Direct oversight of ~10+ supervisors and production support roles
- Indirect responsibility for 50+ production employees
- Highly visible leadership role within plant operations
- 5–10+ years of experience in manufacturing or industrial production
- Prior experience leading teams in a multi‑shift or 24/7 environment
- Proven ability to lead from the front —
hands‑on, floor‑focused leadership - Strong problem‑solving and operational troubleshooting skills
- Experience driving safety, production, and process improvements
Nice to Have
- Background in chemical, industrial, plastics, or related manufacturing
- Experience leading or developing supervisors (not just direct labor)
This is not a desk‑based management role
.
- You’ll spend most of your day on the production floor
- The environment is industrial (noise, chemicals, active operations)
- Schedule typically starts early (~7 AM) and may include occasional weekends or on‑call support
- Base Salary: $105K – $115K
- Bonus:
15% target
