Seasonal Grain Handler Technician

At CGB, we are a grain and transportation leader that values teamwork, safety, and professional growth.

• Participate in daily safety meetings and follow all OSHA and company safety protocols.
• Perform deckhand duties: read drafts, open/close lids, tie off barges, load barges to meet draft and quality requirements.
• Load and unload barges, trucks, and rail cars; move grain to storage or loading points as directed.
• Conduct general housekeeping: sweeping, shoveling, washing, and painting.
• Execute preventative maintenance and repairs on barges and equipment when required.
• Maintain accurate and legible documentation of all operations.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No prior experience required; experience in an industrial environment preferred.
• Basic math, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Capability to use appropriate tools and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Familiarity with safety procedures and the use of personal protective equipment.

• Continuous lifting and pushing up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, crawling, kneeling, and squatting.
• Climbing stairs, ladders, and working at significant heights.
• Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather and high dust conditions.
• Extended hours, weekends, holidays, and rotating 12‑hour shifts required.
• Work in confined spaces and on barge surfaces with water exposure.

The base pay range for this position is $13.00 – $13.00 per hour.
