Position: Hot Plant Foreman
Location: Carthage

D&B operates four asphalt plants and two active sand and gravel plants and is a natural extension to our recently established Southeast platform, further strengthening our vertically integrated footprint.

General Summary

This position is responsible for coordinating asphalt production to meet internal and external customer demand, ordering materials and supplies, daily safety and production reports, and managing repair and maintenance.

Essential Job Accountabilities
  • Responsible for schedule coordination with sales, operations, and administrative staff.
  • Maintaining material quality and inventory levels to meet sales demand.
  • Occasionally operate mobile and/or plant equipment.
  • Allocates general and daily responsibilities.
  • Supervises, coordinates, and monitors plant activities to include the maintenance of equipment.
  • Supports and assists personnel in achieving timely and efficient production schedules.
  • Ensures manpower and resources are adequate.
  • Ensures conformance with policies and procedures, safety regulations, and local, State and Federal laws and regulations.
  • Ensures proper documentation of operations activities in logs and/or incident reports.
  • Proactively manages equipment, personnel, and other operational costs.
  • Teach and develop craft employees to promote understanding of safety and aggregate processing.
Education
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
Work Experience

5+ years of experience in asphalt operations with understanding of material processing equipment such as plant controls, dryer drums, screens, conveyors, baghouse, and mobile equipment. Hands‑on experience and knowledge of asphalt plants, plant operations, screens, and conveyors are required.

  • Knowledge and understanding of preventative maintenance that must be performed to minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Knowledge and understanding of asphalt production.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, delegate, and manage multiple tasks.
  • Computer skills and email proficiency.
  • Problem‑solving and troubleshooting plant operational issues.
  • Clear communication.

  • Work in dusty or dirty surroundings.
  • Follow instructions and meet set standards.
  • Make decisions based on verifiable standards.
Physical Requirements
  • Stoop, bend, and crouch.
  • Use hands, arms, and legs fully.

  • Lift up to 80 pounds.
