Aircraft Mechanic 3
LocationLika, MS
Shift- Mon-Thurs 7am-5:30pm
- Mon-Thurs 5:30pm-4am
- Read and understand blueprints
- Translate blueprints into fabrication of structural assemblies to include precision drilling, countersinking, and the use of calibrated tools
- Align parts on jigs using templates and fixtures
- Perform part-fitting operations: filing, sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming
- Measure parts with precision tools such as micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions
- May modify incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate changes to structure and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedure
- Daily usage of manufacturing shop controls and systems
- Use of appropriate PPE when working on the shop floor
- Recommend and implement continuous improvement activities in production methods, equipment performance, and team effectiveness
- High School Diploma/GED with at least 4 years of experience in hydraulic parts, assemblies, components, or systems in an aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing and/or maintenance environment
- This position requires the ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitive work including bending, stooping, kneeling, carrying tools, lifting up to 35 pounds, working overhead or at heights, and accessing small, confined spaces
- Must successfully complete and pass the "ASTAR New Hire Training / Compliance” within a reasonable time.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret level clearance and Special Program Access within a reasonable period, as defined by the company, to meet its business needs. U.S. Citizenship required for clearance. e period, as defined by the company to meet its business need
- Must have the ability to work any shift
- Current/active U.S. Government Secret-level clearance
- Experience in aerospace manufacturing
- Demonstrated ability using standard measuring equipment and power hand tools (Drills, grinders, sanders, cutting wheels, saws, tape measures, scales, micrometers, dial calipers, etc.)
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, technical specifications and operating procedures
- Experience working to electronic or written instructions
- Ability to read engineering drawings
