Machine Operator - 2nd Shift

Position Summary

Machine Operator located in Durant, MS. Starting rate $25.00/hour with opportunities for advancement. 2nd shift (3:30pm-12am, Monday‑Friday). Overtime may be required.

• Observe and follow all safety rules
• Manually set tools and punches as specified by setup sheets, measure parts according to prints
• Observe machine operation to detect work‑piece defects or machine malfunction
• Support the NC Operator by delivering and loading parts into the machines
• Load and unload machine with overhead lifts if needed
• Read blueprints and job orders for product specifications such as dimensions, tolerances and tooling instructions
• Work cohesively with NC operators, maintenance, and others
• Operate forklifts, hand trucks, pallet jacks, cranes or other moving equipment safely
• Maintain work area to sustain a clean and orderly environment
• May train other machine operators
• Inspect your own parts and be responsible for keeping machine and area clean
• Other duties as assigned

• High school diploma or GED required; mechanical work experience preferred
• Demonstrated ability to be trained to operate material‑handling equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, motorized or manual pallet jacks
• Knowledge of material handling and loading parts into machines
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences, and memos
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers
• Ability to read prints, calipers, degree finders, and scales
