Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Utility Operator with converting experience to join our team at Menasha Packaging. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in paper production, specifically in converting processes. Experience with flatbed and die‑cut operations is preferred. As a Utility Operator, you will support various production processes, ensuring efficient operation of machinery and maintaining high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Uptime Champion
- Participate in maintenance and troubleshooting activities to minimize downtime and maximize throughput.
- Assist with training new operators and assistant operators, ensuring they understand operational procedures and safety protocols.
- CIMMS Champion
- Ability to troubleshoot and ensure smooth operation of the CIMMS WIP Storage system running automatically.
- Ensure stock is flowing to machine centers without interruption.
- Ensure all stock on WIP storage lines is identified in the system (NO "5's").
- Ensure all materials necessary for efficient set‑up and production orders are available at machines, ready at least three orders ahead.
- Assist with Make‑Ready and Set‑Up activities on assigned assets.
- Operate at a minimum of Level 2 operator and collaborate with teammates to meet production goals and quality standards.
- Safety Champion
- Active participant in Safety Snag program and Safety Committee.
- Monitor raw materials and supply inventory weekly, working with Supervisor to maintain inventory above minimum levels.
- Document production data and maintain accurate records of machine performance and output.
- Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge in paper converting processes.
- Previous experience as a Level 2 Operator or in a similar role within a paper plant, specifically in converting processes.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with coworkers.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends as needed.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing environment.
