Production Operator - Line - 3rd Shift

Overview

The Production Operator plays a vital role in our food manufacturing process, ensuring the efficient and safe production of food products according to established quality and safety standards.

• Equipment Operation: Operate production machinery and equipment, including mixers, ovens, filling machines, and packaging equipment; set up machinery according to production specifications; ensure proper functioning; monitor operation and troubleshoot issues.
• Quality Control: Conduct regular quality checks on raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods; follow SOPs and GMPs; report deviations to supervisor or quality control team.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to OSHA safety protocols; wear appropriate PPE; follow safety procedures; participate in safety training; report hazards or incidents.
• Sanitation and Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness of the production area, equipment, work surfaces, and storage; follow sanitation procedures; dispose of waste per company policies.
• Production Efficiency: Follow production schedules and plans; monitor output; identify opportunities for optimization; communicate issues and collaborate on solutions.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate production logs, batch records, and inventory records in the production reporting system; assist in inventory management.

  Work collaboratively with supervisors, technicians, and quality control personnel; communicate effectively during shift changes.
• Flexibility: Work overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED; additional vocational training or certification in food production or manufacturing is a plus.
• Previous experience in food manufacturing or a similar production environment.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Familiarity with food safety regulations (FSA, USDA) and quality assurance practices (GMPs).
• Ability to operate production equipment safely and effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Physical stamina to lift and move heavy objects; ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.

Daily exposure to unusual elements such as dirt, dust, fumes, odors, darkness, poor lighting, noise, vibration, chemical hazards, electrical hazards, and mechanical equipment hazards. Seasonal exposure to weather elements, including extreme temperatures, wetness, and humidity. Must stand, walk, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, use fine dexterity, and reach, kneel, crawl, and twist frequently.
