Baler Operator
Salary: $21.83- $23.40
Position Summary:
The baler operator tends the machine that compresses and binds paper and corrugated scrap to facilitate handling.
Essential Functions:
Cart or carry materials to shredder machine
Place materials in shredder and then send shredded scrap to the compression chamber of the baling machine
Move lever or electric switch, causing ram to compress material
Thread tie bands into baler, which twists or clamps ends of bands to tighten bands Weigh bales and record weight
Remove bales from machine and truck bale to storage place
Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors

Quality of work Production goals
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or equivalent
Industrial truck operator certificate desired
Work Experience:
Previous baler operator experience desired
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Safety sensitive position - ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner
Ability to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the business
Ability to work on a rotating shift as needed Ability to effectively work in teams
Ability to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people
Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles
Ability to operate hand tools Ability to operate forklift
