The Safety Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based in Moselle, MS, responsible for overseeing and reinforcing workplace safety across poultry processing operations. This position monitors daily plant activities to ensure compliance with safety policies, OSHA regulations, and company standards, including conducting regular inspections, audits, and hazard assessments. The Safety Supervisor leads safety training sessions, maintains documentation, investigates incidents and near‑misses, and recommends corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
This role collaborates closely with operations, maintenance, and human resources to promote a culture of safety, supports emergency response procedures, and tracks safety performance metrics. The Safety Supervisor also assists with the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives related to worker safety, ergonomics, and risk reduction.
- Demonstrated knowledge of workplace safety regulations, including OSHA standards and best practices for industrial or food processing environments.
- Experience conducting safety audits, inspections, incident investigations, and root cause analyses in a manufacturing or production setting.
- Ability to develop and deliver safety training programs, toolbox talks, and orientation sessions to team members at all organizational levels.
- Strong skills in written and verbal communication, documentation, and report writing, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proven capability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams, influence safe behaviors, and build a positive safety culture.
- Competence in using basic computer applications (e.g., email, word processing, spreadsheets) to manage records, reports, and safety data.
- Prior experience in poultry processing, food manufacturing, or industrial operations is preferred.
- EMT certified or Associate or bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Professional safety certifications (e.g., OSHA 30-Hour, CSP, CHST) are an advantage.
