Job descriptionThe Vest Operator is responsible for assembling fabric patterns according to work instructions, drawings, and other items to create air holding devices. They will join the seams of the fabric patterns together by applying adhesive. Hand tools are used during this process.
The Vest Operator performs all duties outlined in the Basic Training Checklist.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Ability to read drawings and follow written instructions including manuals, standard practices and work instructions.
- Stamp, serialize and date‑stamp vital information such as part number, date of vest manufacture, & serial number.
- Reference tools included on‑job training and prints.
- Ability to learn how to run various machines used in the production of vests including vacuum pack machine, index/test machine, sewing machines, heat seal machines and any other equipment used in the vest process.
- Ability to fold and pack vests.
- Ability to complete very detailed paperwork accurately and efficiently.
- Must have good communication skills.
- Must work in a safe manner, maintaining a well‑kept work area.
