What Youll DoObserves and follows all safety rules
Positions parts according to knowledge of unit being assembled or following blueprints; fastens parts together with bolts screws speed clips rivets or other fasteners
Audit production parts to maintain adequate stock to fulfill production needs
Removes small quantities of metal with hand files and scrapers to produce a close fit between parts
Operates hand tools or portable power tools to assist in the assembly operation
May be required to work at different stations as production needs warrant Operate overhead hoist to maneuver material
Operate Forklift to move products throughout the plant
Operate hand tools to assemble products
Operate power and manual pallet jacks throughout the plant
Must be willing and able to work overtime as an extension to a normal workday or on weekends as scheduled
Other assignments as deemed appropriate by the supervisor
High school diploma or GED is required
One year certificate from college or technical school preferred
Up to 1 year of experience in some industry or combination of education and experience or demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to read work instructions
Ability to use hand tools such as hand drills and air tools
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions short correspondences and memos Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals
Basic skill level in computer programs such as Microsoft Office is highly desirable
