What Youll Do- Observes and follows all safety rules
- Must be willing and able to work overtime as an extension to a normal workday or on weekends as scheduled
- Positions parts according to knowledge of unit being assembled or following blueprints
- Audit production parts to maintain adequate stock to fulfill production needs
- Fastens parts together with bolts screws speed clips rivets or other fasteners
- Removes small quantities of metal with hand files and scrapers to produce a close fit between parts
- Operates hand tools or portable power tools to assist in the assembly operation
- May be required to work at different stations as production needs warrant
- Operate overhead hoist to maneuver material
- Operate forklift to move products throughout the plant
- Operate hand tools to assemble products
- Operate power pallet jacks throughout the plant
- Operate manual pallet jacks throughout the plant
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED is required and 3 months of related experience andor training
- Must be able to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts overhead cranes motorized pallet jacks or manual pallet jacks
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions short correspondences and memos
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers
