The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) provides psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, medication management, patient education, crisis assessment, referral coordination, and follow-up care for patients served through designated behavioral health service lines. The PMHNP supports continuity of care across outpatient structured group-based treatment settings, collaborates with Medical Director, Program Director, therapists, nursing staff, case management, and other members of the treatment team, and practices within the approved scope of practice, protocols, collaborative agreement, and standards applicable to advanced practice registered nurses in the State of Mississippi.
The PMHNP is responsible for completing timely, accurate, and clinically appropriate documentation; maintaining patient confidentiality; supporting quality patient outcomes; and ensuring that consultation, referral, perspective, and care coordination activities are completed in accordance with hospital policy, departmental procedures, and Mississippi Board of Nursing requirements.

- Current unrestricted Registered Nurse License and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse certification/privilege to practice in the State of Mississippi, in good standing with the Mississippi Board of Nursing
- Master's degree or higher in nursing from an accredited program required; certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner required
- Must have, or be eligible to obtain and maintain, all Mississippi Board of Nursing approvals required for the approved practice site(s), controlled-substance privileges, DEA registration, and Mississippi Prescription Monitoring Program participation, as applicable to the position.
- Psychiatric, behavioral health, substance use, geriatric, adolescent, outpatient, intensive outpatient, crisis, or hospital-based experience strongly preferred
