Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care of patients. The Clinic RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members in an outpatient clinic setting. Clinic RNs are pivotal members of the care delivery team headed by the physician, with specialized knowledge, skills and ability pertinent to ambulatory care patient needs.
Responsibilities- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current/valid Registered Nurse license from the state licensing board.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS).
- One (1) year related experience in a clinic or acute hospital nursing setting.
- Preferred:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
- Regular attendance on site during business hours or scheduled shifts.
- Knowledge of nursing processes; health care systems, structure, and functions; community resources.
- Understanding of health care technology, equipment, and supplies.
- Familiarity with state law on nursing care, nursing practice guidelines, and clinic policies and procedures.
- Ability to effectively communicate to staff and patients.
- Demonstrate sound judgment and composure with the ability to take appropriate action in questionable or emergency situations.
- Maintain a positive, caring attitude towards patients.
- Show strong work ethic and high level of professionalism.
- Critical thinking skills within scope of practice, population health management, and improvement of patient outcomes.
- Job requires frequent visual, audio, and manual dexterity tasks, including reading labels, operating monitors, and using complex equipment.
- Ability to lift, transfer, and move patients, as well as heavy supplies and equipment.
- Ability to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
