The State of Mississippi is seeking candidates for a nursing position. The salary range is $32,000.00 - $43,680.00 annually. The job is located in Jones County, MS, and is a full-time position.

The position is with Ellisville State School, a state-operated regional program providing services to persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The mission is to enrich the lives of these individuals by providing a foundation of independence and empowerment.

The individual in this position will ensure that provided nursing care complies with Board of Nursing rules and regulations, and the IID Program policy through evaluating and assessing each person's illness/injuries and documents appropriately. Ensure that doctor's orders are carried out appropriately. Maintain effective communication with each person, family, and members of the health care staff. Administer prescribed medication and treatment.

Perform urine drug screens. Accompany persons we serve to doctor appointments. Computer skills required. Other duties shall be carried out as assigned by the supervisor.

The vacancy is in the Pecan Grove Unit. To be successful, the candidate should have efficient organizational and time management skills, good oral and written communication skills, positive work morale, and the ability to handle an often-unpredictable work environment.

Preferred qualifications typically require a Certificate from an Approved School of Nursing, Licensure as an LPN, and 0-4 years of experience.
