Job Summary
The Certified LPN at North Mississippi Health Services plays a vital role in providing a wide variety of nursing functions to support the medical plan of care, adhering to hospital/departmental policies and procedures. Their responsibilities include patient care, documentation, teaching, and performing IV therapy, ensuring age-appropriate care and maintaining positive relations with patients, families, and medical staff. The LPN must possess problem-solving skills to handle stressful situations and respond to changing patient needs effectively.
JobFunctions
- Patient Care:
Provides a wide variety of nursing functions to support the medical plan of care in compliance with hospital/departmental policies and procedures. - Documentation:
Assist in maintaining patient records through daily nursing summaries, Medicare charting, acute care charting and accurate medication administration records. - Teaching:
Provides patient/family teaching necessary for continuing care during and after discharge. - IV Therapy:
Performs IV therapy utilizing hospital guidelines.
- Other (Experience) Must meet continuing education requirements as defined.
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
- LPN
- Licensed Practical Nurse
- State Licensure. - CPR
- Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Maintains knowledge and skills necessary to provide age appropriate care.
- Must complete 24-32 hours orientation MIS computer training.
- Must organize and prioritize work assignments.
- Delegates assignments appropriately to nursing assistants.
- Assists new employees in their orientation.
- Required to project positive image of the unit to all customers.
- Maintains a good working relationship with medical staff, unit personnel, and all ancillary departments.
