This job provides direct care (including IV therapy) of assigned patients within the framework of the Licensed Practical Nurse Act under the direction of a registered nurse. The staff assists ancillary nursing personnel, interacts with the multidisciplinary team, and demonstrates professional responsibilities for its own practice and for assisting other members of the healthcare team in providing high‑quality personalized patient care.

Required – High school diploma or equivalent.

Required – None.

Required – Current licensed practical nursing (LPN) license in state of practice. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association. Preferred – IV therapy credentials.

Heavy work may involve exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 25 to 50 pounds frequently, or 10 to 20 pounds constantly to move objects. Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue. The incumbent works in a patient care area and may be exposed to communicable diseases and hazardous medications or waste through handling, storage, preparation, dispensing, and disposal.

These conditions may increase the occupational risk for exposure to hazardous substances.
