This job provides direct care (including IV therapy) of assigned patients within the framework of the Licensed Practical Nurse Act under the direction of a registered nurse. The staff assists ancillary nursing personnel, interacts with the multidisciplinary team, and demonstrates professional responsibilities for its own practice and for assisting other members of the healthcare team in providing high‑quality personalized patient care.

EducationRequired – High school diploma or equivalent.
Work ExperienceRequired – None.
CertificationsRequired – Current licensed practical nursing (LPN) license in state of practice. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association. Preferred – IV therapy credentials.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills, self‑directed, and demonstrate good judgment.
- Good interpersonal and delegation skills.
- Ability to work with and maintain confidential information.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Effectively uses the nursing process in the delivery of patient care through data gathering, planning, and evaluation.
- Provides care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety, and related criteria appropriate to the ages of patients served.
- Communicates effectively and professionally with all patients, guests, family members, and co‑workers to ensure a quality patient experience.
- Adapts to rapid change in a positive manner throughout the day as the needs of the unit or department change.
- Manages personal professional development and maintains required clinical knowledge, technical skills, training, and credentials.
- Performs other related duties as required.

Physical and Environmental DemandsHeavy work may involve exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 25 to 50 pounds frequently, or 10 to 20 pounds constantly to move objects. Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue. The incumbent works in a patient care area and may be exposed to communicable diseases and hazardous medications or waste through handling, storage, preparation, dispensing, and disposal.
These conditions may increase the occupational risk for exposure to hazardous substances.
