Overview

Local Hospital located in South Mississippi with Psychiatric Inpatient and Outpatient services now hiring.

• Provide psychiatric-mental health care as a PMH-APRN (APRN) working with individuals, families, groups, and communities to assess mental health needs.
• Develop nursing diagnoses and plans of care, implement the nursing process, and evaluate effectiveness.
• Offer primary care services to the psychiatric-mental health population, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of psychiatric disorders or potential disorders using full scope of therapeutic skills, including prescribing medications and administering psychotherapy.
• Manage the patient s physical, psychiatric, and behavioral conditions within the APRN scope of practice and education.
• Maintain standards of professional nursing practice in accordance with facility policies, external governing bodies, performance improvement standards, and APRN standards.
• Evaluate patients and prescribe treatments using established practice guidelines; collaborate with medical staff as needed; apply decision-making to promote and restore health and prevent illness.
• Interpret age/disability specific information for the client population served; ensure safe delivery of medications and treatments per policies and national guidelines.
• Maintain accurate documentation of symptoms, responses, and progress; engage in professional development and licensure maintenance.
• Perform all duties in accordance with Federal and State regulations, Freedoms Mission, policies and procedures, and PI Standards.

• Education:
  
  Master  Degree in Nursing; licensed as a Nurse Practitioner with a degree in psychiatric-mental health nursing.
• License:
  Licensed as a PMHNP to practice in the state.
• Experience:
  
  One year APRN experience preferred.
