Chemistry Lab Tech| Hiring Now

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our Quality team in a manufacturing environment producing household and industrial products, including toilet bowl cleaners, bleach, and dry pool tablets. This position is responsible for collecting production samples, performing routine laboratory testing, documenting results, and ensuring products meet established quality standards.

The ideal candidate is self-driven, comfortable working independently, and eager to learn and grow within a fast-paced manufacturing operation.

Responsibilities
  • Collect production samples from manufacturing lines every 3 hours.
  • Perform quality testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
  • Conduct laboratory analyses, including: pH testing, moisture testing, viscosity testing, water quality analysis, basic microbiological and rapid testing methods.
  • Operate and utilize FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy) instrumentation.
  • Accurately document test results and maintain laboratory records.
  • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and laboratory procedures.
  • Communicate quality concerns, nonconformances, and deviations to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and quality programs.
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to ensure product quality and consistency.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or a related scientific field preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of laboratory experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent documentation and communication abilities.
  • Comfortable working in both laboratory and manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • Desire to continuously learn and develop technical knowledge.
  • Experience with FTIR instrumentation.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, chemical, consumer products, quality control, or quality assurance laboratory.
  • Exposure to microbiological testing techniques.
  • Recent graduates with relevant laboratory coursework, internships, undergraduate research, or co-op experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to work in a laboratory and manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and collect samples throughout the facility.
  • Ability to lift and transport sample containers and laboratory materials as needed.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including steel-toe footwear and other safety equipment as required.

This is a Contract position based out of Sardis, MS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
