Agricultural Aide

Provides support and assistance to the research program to facilitate research activities in a specific area of discipline.

Employees hired into Intermittent positions are limited to working no more than 720 hours per fiscal year.

Salary Grade: UC

This position is located at the Delta Research and Extension Center in Stoneville, MS.

Anticipated Appointment Date:
September 2023.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Under supervision of the Project Leader and support research staff, the individual will routinely perform a variety of generalized and specialized duties related to experiments in the field, greenhouse and laboratory, using established methods and procedures.
• This may include collecting and processing research samples.
• Establishing and maintaining plants in the field and solutions, and living organisms for applications, inoculation, or use in various experiments.
• Operating, maintaining, and calibrating various field, greenhouse and laboratory equipment used in field operations and analysis of research samples.
• Performing other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the immediate supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be 18 years of age or older.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to follow instructions.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

Ability to work in extreme weather conditions.
